When HYDRAGUN reached out to me to see if I was interested in reviewing the StretchPad, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. I previously reviewed their massage gun and was thoroughly impressed, and was excited to see what their new product had to offer!

Playing sports and working out at the gym can cause some issues for your body, especially when age is creeping up like it is with me. I take my fitness quite seriously and have a dedicated stretching routine that I do at least a few times a week, but there’s always room for improvement!

First Impressions

The product is neatly packaged in a high-quality box that protects it during transit and delivers a pleasant unboxing experience. The StretchPad itself is packed folded in half and secured by a zip at the top and bottom. This makes the StretchPad much more compact and easy to pack away, store and travel with.

After unpacking, it was clear to see the quality of the product in terms of material and design choices. It’s incredibly easy to set up with just a single plug that connects to your wall outlet. Once it’s plugged in, you’re ready to go!

What Does It Do?

As the name suggests, this is an automated stretch device that helps alleviate aches and pains, improve blood flow and deliver an overall relaxing and health-benefitting experience. It uses 22 precision-controlled air chambers to manipulate and stretch key areas of your body.

There are a lot of different routines programmed into the device, all of which are controlled with the intuitive remote control. There are 4 full-body routines that each deliver a different type of massage; Stretch, Twist, Lift & Deep. My personal favourite is the Lift mode which does an excellent job at stretching out the lumbar region, which is a problem area for me.

In addition, there are 3 targeted massage routines; one for your neck and shoulders, lower back, and hips and thighs. Again because I have some issues with my lower back, being able to target it directly has been really beneficial and definitely made an improvement in my comfort.

You are also able to adjust both the intensity of the massage and the time duration (10, 20 and 30 mins) from the remote. There’s actually quite a lot of variation in terms of intensity and I would recommend starting on the lowest intensity and working your way up. The lower back air chamber is quite powerful and on the highest level of intensity arches the back quite high, which could be uncomfortable for some.

Finally, there is an infrared heating function, similar to those you find in heating pads, located on the middle and upper back region which delivers what I would describe as a gentle but effective level of warmth that certainly helps relax and loosen the muscles.

My Experience

I play Soccer weekly and go to the gym quite regularly and as a result, also have at least one nagging issue. I also work from a desk typing a lot and get a stiff back and neck from time to time. I’ve been using the HYDRAGUN StretchPad for a few weeks now and have to say I have noticed a marked improvement with my back.

Usually after a week of exercise, I have a notable amount of tightness in my lower back which flares up when working on a computer. However, since using the StretchPad almost daily I can safely say that my back is nowhere as tight as it was before.

As mentioned previously I primarily used the Lift routine to combat my tight back but I have used all of the different programs at some points, all of which I found to be beneficial. I really like using the Twist routine in addition to the Lift routine as I felt it opened up my hips, which then allowed my lower back to relax more than before.

The heat function is also something absolutely loved. It’s not the most powerful thing in the world but you can certainly feel the difference! And in the Melbourne Winter, it’s doubly nice!

My Feedback

I don’t have many complaints about the StretchPad but I do wish it was a bit long and had function for the lower legs. As someone who plays football, I get a lot of niggles and I think people like me or runners would massively benefit from this.

The Verdict

The HYDRAGUN StretchPad is an excellent product that offers a lot of value. It has made a meaningful difference to my recovery and overall well-being in a relatively short period of time. Although it’s not a cheap product, you have to consider the value it offers long-term compared to costly physio appointments.

Even as a relatively fit and young person, I can see myself using this regularly and long-term, but I would argue that it’s even better suited to those who have more ailments and lack mobility. The automatic nature of the stretch pad makes it accessible to absolutely anybody who wants to improve their flexibility and overall mobility.

My Experience with FOREO LUNA 3 Men

FOREO LUNA 3 Men is a brilliant little device that delivers a great first impression from the moment you hold it in your hand. It has a nice weight to it and comfortably fits in the palm of the hand, and is clearly well made. It has a soft, “rubber” casing that makes it easy to grip and prevents it from slipping out of your hand in the shower. The bristles are soft and flexible yet remain firm enough to provide the required resistance to exfoliate the skin without causing injuries.

Alongside the device itself, I was provided with FOREO Micro Foam cleanser which can be used with LUNA 3 Men to cleanse away 99.95% of impurities from the skin’s surface. Simply apply the serum onto the bristles and then apply water so that it foams up ready for application. LUNA 3 Men is very easy to use and offers you a range of cleansing techniques that can benefit your skin in countless ways.

The first option is to press the button on the back of the device to turn it on. This will cause LUNA 3 Men to enter Cleansing Mode which means the device will vibrate for a short period of time ready for you to cleanse your face. It is split into four 15-second intervals to let you know when to move on to a different area of your face, but I would spend a bit more time on each care and do one and a half sessions each time I used the device.

For the record, I have never had a skincare routine before this point so I was heading into this review completely open-minded and with no expectations either way. I did have a call with one of FOREO’s product experts (Adelle Petropoulos, Education and Communication Specialist) who showed me how to use LUNA 3 Men correctly and mentioned that often people who use it just once are shocked at how effective it is.

This seemed hard to believe as I am generally sceptical of any claims made by beauty companies but I have to say, I too was shocked at the improvement made to my skin. My skin was much softer after one use. After one week there was a visible difference, especially around the corners of my nose and my forehead.

The second method offers more control and customisation through the companion app but was not something I delved into too deeply. The reason being I was so impressed with Cleanse Mode that I have not felt the need to dive further. However, if you want a specific routine then the app has you covered where you can adjust the timing or select other modes that are designed to firm the eye, neck and jaw areas.

Overall, I am a huge fan of LUNA 3 Men, which is a surprise to even me since this is an area I have never really shown an interest in but the results are immediate and my skin has never felt better. It’s actually a really relaxing process that enhances my showers and is now something I look forward to doing 2 or 3 times a week!

Final Thoughts

FOREO LUNA 3 Men not only has great features but is also reasonably priced. It will completely change how you cleanse and care for your skin. This is why Dorsi’s remote control is perfect since it will be a challenge to reach your back whenever you need to switch intensity levels or choose modes.

Design

The Dorsi Trainer is portable and lightweight. It’s also very convenient since you can control it with wireless remote control. So you can easily use and apply it in your daily life. Whether you are standing up, sitting down, working, or after working out, here’s a device you can train with anytime and anywhere.

We’d also like to mention the Dorsi Trainer’s butterfly-shaped back pad. Not only does this add comfort when worn, but it also gives it a slightly better look than other posture correction bands. The elastic bands are detachable and washable as well, so you’d have no problem keeping the device clean.

Final Thoughts

Update after 6 months of use: The Hydragun has become a very important part of my recovery and maintenance. Now that the soccer season is back underway, my body is under more stress than it has been for a while and the Hydragun really has made a difference. I get a lot of niggly little injuries and the Hydragun does a great job at loosening any knots or bits of tension I get in my legs. This combined with stretching and a good warmup has kept me injury free thus far this season. 

As someone who focuses on their fitness and runs frequently, I’m no stranger to muscle fatigue and injuries. When HYDRAGUN reached out to me to try out their massage gun (HYDRAGUN has kindly provided me with an exclusive discount code: “MRGADGET20” – $20 off) I jumped at the chance, not only because I love reviewing cool tech but I have a few niggling muscle injuries and physicians were shut due to the Melbourne lockdown.

So, after using the product for around 6 weeks now, I’m ready to give my thoughts on the general product quality and how effective it was at alleviating some of my aches and pains. First Impressions

It’s obvious from the moment you open the packaging that this is a quality product. It comes im a relatively nice hard carry case to keep everything organised and protected. This is a good start. When you open the case the first thing that stands is the massage gun itself. It looks nice, really nice. HYDRAGUN has done a great job designing a product that looks futuristic. It has a really nice black and dark red colour scheme which looks hi-tech yet subtle at the same time. It has cool angles and in some ways reminds of the Tesla Cybertruck.

In the case you get the gun but also the following:

• HYDRAGUN massage gun
• Massage heads x 6
• Storage bag
• Charger
• User manual

The attachments do not have the same quality as the gun itself but they really don’t need it. They’re not badly put together by any stretch, they’re just not on par with the quality of the gun itself.

Taking the gun out fo the case you’ll notice that it is quite heavy. Thankfully it is a well-balanced itself so it doesn’t apply any strain but it’s certainly weighty. This is probably due to the battery, motor and material selections.

The material selection is really nice. The barrel of the gun is made from an aluminium alloy that feels very solid. The handle is wrapped in some sort of rubber/silicon that provided additional grip without feeling sticky.

All in all, the HYDRAGUN delivers an excellent first-impression that sets high expectations for the utility.

Use Cases

In total there are 6 attachments and 6 different speed settings. But what do each of the attachments do and what speed setting should you use the gun on. Well. it all depends on the use case. I’m by no means an actual expert on this subject so just keep that in mind. All of the information I’m presenting is second-hand research and then my own first-hand experience following that research.

So what are the attachments for?

Essentially the different attachments are designed to interact with different muscles groups. Muscles range greatly in size, with some requiring a more intense massage while others just need a gentle, but precise massage. Below is an overview of each attachment and the appropriate muscle group (I’ll quote HYDRAGUN for this:

• Flat heads: For recovery for particularly sore muscles. The larger surface area helps increase blood flow. Bigger spread.
• Bullet: For inner joints; feet, or for deeper penetration. Pinpoints and releases the tightness in a particular pit on the body.
• Fork: For deeper penetration on medium muscle groups (forearm, calves, shoulder). Releases tightness with dual-point targeting.
• Ball: For larger muscle groups (glutes, quads, calves, lats, traps), if you do not want too deep a massage or to go around bony structures like the knee

In addition to the above, there are two metal-finished variants for the ball (although smaller) and the flat head. They should be used to target the same types of muscles but provide a firmer impact.

Different speeds

The HYDRAGUN has a 6-speed motor which is controlled using the button the backside of the barrel. The speeds (RPM) are as follows:

• 1200
• 1600
• 2000
• 2400
• 2800
• 3200

The sensation ranges from a gentle vibration at the low end, a firm vibration around 2000-2400 RPM, and something more like an intense buzz at the top end. I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference and injury type, but there is enough diversity in the speed for everyone to find something suited t their needs and tastes.

Did It Work For Me?

Short answer, yes! As someone who runs on average every other day, I’ve almost always got a muscle injury somewhere in legs. Never anything serious just a bit of fatigue or tightness that takes a while to get over. A soon as I received the gun I would use it after every run to massage my problem areas. Usually my calf and hamstrings.

I used the rubber ball on the high-end speeds and would massage each area for approximately 5 minutes. It’s hard to describe and as I mentioned I’m no doctor but it’s as if you can feel the blood flowing to the area being massaged. From my admittedly poor knowledge, blood flow to an injury is a good thing and can aid in the recovery. And from my own anecdotal experience, I have to say this is true.

It didn’t completely remove my injuries like some sort of magic gun, but it did alleviate them to a point where I could clearly notice the difference. I think the best way to view this massage gun is as a muscle fatigue management tool rather than as a remedy.

Another issue that I sometimes get is neck ache from all of the computer work I have to do as part of this site. This got worse during lockdown where initially my set-up was less and ideal. I used the HYDRAGUN to help reduce my neck strain by using a combination of the rubber ball and the bullet. I would use the rubber ball initially for a few minutes and then finish it with the bullet to get right into the problematic muscle.

I would do this after a typing session or when I started to feel some discomfort and I can say it is really effective at reducing the discomfort significantly.

Final Thoughts

I have to say that this is a quality product and impressed me in every way. As someone who has never used a massage gun before but was a little cynical towards them, HYDRAGUN has completely proved me wrong, This is now a staple of my exercise routine and has helped me be more consistent with my running. The fact that it is this beneficial and also looks and feels great is a powerful combo. I can easily recommend this product to anyone who is the market for a quality massage gun.
